Masterclass in Oil Painting
This will be a 4 day oil painting masterclass course. This Masterclass will take place indoors.
The course will be a combination of abstraction and representation, using
photographs as source material but also allowing the unpredictability of paint to guide you and make ‘happy accidents’. This course is suitable for all levels - beginners, intermediate and advanced.
In her studio practice, Ann uses her own photographs as preparatory sketches and
references. She will demonstrate how photographs can be used as a source material for painting and to help develop memory and imagination. Therefore participants should bring photographs that are meaningful to them as a starting point to create their own personal painting.
The 4 days will be packed full of information for participants as Ann will demonstrate many different painting techniques and explain ways to use the different
oil painting mediums - toxic and non toxic. She will encourage participants to get outside the traditional method of only painting with a brush.
Ann will also cover colour theory and encourage participants to choose colours according to their own instincts and intuition.
* Cost does not include accommodation. Artform also provide an artist accommodation package.
